Epoch 12V 460Ah V2 Elite Series LiFePO4 Battery (5.89kWh)

460 amp-hours in a Group 8D case, which is the point at which a single battery replaces a whole bank. 5,888Wh of LiFePO4 behind a 230A continuous discharge, 500A for thirty seconds and 1,300A for one — enough to start a diesel and then run a house for a day.

The V2 Elite is Epoch's flagship: IP67 sealed against dust and immersion, internally heated so it charges down to −22°F, CANbus communication with the Victron ecosystem, Bluetooth monitoring with a single dashboard for up to sixteen batteries, and over-the-air BMS firmware updates. UL1973 certified pack, UL1642 cells, a UL60691 certified internal fuse, and an 11-year warranty. Renewable Outdoors is an authorized Epoch dealer — call us at (303) 876-7654 and we'll size the bank with you.

Why the V2 Elite 460Ah

460Ah — 5.89kWh in One Case

A Group 8D footprint that replaces four 100Ah batteries and all the interconnects that go with them.

230A Continuous, 1,300A Peak

500A for thirty seconds and 1,300A for one second — cranking capability alongside deep-cycle service.

IP67 Sealed

Dust-tight and rated for immersion to one metre for thirty minutes. It belongs in a bilge, not just a battery box.

Self-Heating to −22°F

Internal heating lets it accept a charge at temperatures where most lithium batteries simply refuse.

Victron CANbus Communications

Full DVCC and distributed charge control through a Victron GX device, not just voltage guessing.

Sixteen in Parallel

Up to 16 batteries in one system, all visible on a single app dashboard, with OTA BMS firmware updates.

What's Included

Epoch 12V 460Ah V2 Elite battery terminals and gauge

What You Get

  • 1 × Epoch 12V 460Ah V2 Elite Series LiFePO4 battery
  • External mountable power button
  • Remote digital battery gauge showing state of charge, voltage, current and alarms
  • Communication harness for Victron systems, with RJ45 cables and waterproof bung
  • Documentation and warranty paperwork

Battery cables, fusing, a compatible charger and mounting hardware are separate — we stock Epoch's own mounting hardware for this battery. Terminals are M8, torqued to 12 N·m (8.85 lb-ft). Call us at (303) 876-7654 and we'll make sure the charger and cable sizing match the bank.

Epoch 12V 460Ah V2 Elite Series LiFePO4 Battery (5.89kWh): Frequently Asked Questions

How much usable energy does 460Ah actually give me?
5,888Wh — and unlike lead-acid, essentially all of it is usable, because LFP tolerates deep discharge without damage. A comparable lead-acid bank would need roughly twice the nameplate capacity to give you the same working energy, and would weigh far more doing it. In practical terms, this one battery runs a 12V fridge, lighting, water pump and electronics on a boat or RV for a couple of days.
Does the self-heating drain the battery?
It uses energy from the battery to warm the cells, so yes — but only when it needs to, and only when charging. The alternative is a battery that refuses to charge at all below freezing, which is what happens with unheated lithium. If your battery lives somewhere that gets genuinely cold, the heating is the feature that makes it usable rather than a liability.
What does Victron communication give me that voltage sensing doesn't?
The battery tells the Victron system its actual state of charge, its cell temperatures and its charge limits over CANbus, and the system adjusts accordingly through DVCC. Voltage-based charging is an estimate; this is the battery reporting facts. It means more accurate state of charge on your display and charging that protects the cells properly.
Can I really put sixteen of these in parallel?
Yes, and that's up from four on the previous generation. Sixteen batteries is 7,360Ah — about 94kWh — all managed as one bank and visible on a single app dashboard. Very few residential or marine systems need that much, but the headroom means you're not designing against a limit.
Can it start an engine?
It can deliver 1,300A for one second and 500A for thirty, which covers cranking on most marine diesels and gas engines. That said, if starting is the primary job, tell us the engine on (303) 876-7654 and we'll check its requirement against those figures rather than assuming.
What does IP67 mean in practice?
Fully dust-tight, and able to survive being submerged in one metre of water for thirty minutes. That's a meaningfully different specification from the IP54 or IP65 typical of RV batteries — it means the battery can live somewhere that occasionally floods, like a bilge or an open deck locker.
Why lithium iron phosphate rather than another lithium chemistry?
LFP trades a little energy density for a great deal of safety and service life. It doesn't have the thermal runaway behaviour that nickel-based lithium chemistries can exhibit, it tolerates being kept at a high state of charge, and it lasts thousands of cycles rather than hundreds. For a battery that lives in a boat, an RV or a house, those are the properties that matter.
How long will it last?
3,500+ cycles, backed by an 11-year limited warranty — which is among the longest in the industry and tells you something about Epoch's own confidence. Cycled once a week, that's decades; cycled daily on an off-grid system, close to ten years.
Do I need a special charger?
You need a charger with a lithium or LiFePO4 profile — a lead-acid charger's absorption and float voltages are wrong for LFP and will either undercharge it or stress it. Epoch specifies absorption at 14.2V for fifteen minutes per battery, float at 13.5V, equalisation off and temperature compensation disabled. We stock matched Epoch chargers.
Do you offer financing or price matching?
Yes. We offer 0% APR financing options through Affirm at checkout, and our Lowest Price Guarantee applies — if you find this battery cheaper at another authorized dealer, call us at (303) 876-7654 before you order and we'll take care of it.
