It's what determines the real cost of the battery over its life. At 7,000 cycles a battery cycled once a day is still healthy after nineteen years; at 3,500 it's closer to nine or ten. If you're building a system you intend to keep, cycle life deserves more attention than purchase price.
Can it be installed outside?
No. It's IP20, which protects against solid objects but not water at all. It needs to be indoors — a utility room, a plant room, or a garage. It also has no self-heating, so charging requires 32°F or above. If your space gets genuinely cold, SunGoldPower's SGH48100T adds self-heating and is the better choice.
How many can I put together?
Up to 63 in parallel, which is 322.56kWh — far beyond residential and into commercial storage. Most homes use two to six. Do not wire these in series; the battery is a native 48V unit.
What is closed-loop communication and why does it matter?
Without it, your inverter estimates the battery's state of charge from voltage — and LFP has such a flat discharge curve that voltage tells you very little. With CAN or RS485 communication, the battery's own BMS reports actual state of charge, cell temperatures and charge limits, and the inverter charges to those figures. It means accurate monitoring and charging that protects the cells properly rather than approximately.

What does the 20% to 95% recommended window mean?
It's the state-of-charge range SunGoldPower recommends for longest cell life, even though the battery is rated at 100% depth of discharge. Cycling within that band rather than to the extremes is easier on the cells. Most inverters let you set minimum and maximum state-of-charge limits to enforce it.
How much can one battery deliver?
100A continuous at 51.2V, so roughly 5,120W of DC output. A single battery suits an inverter of around 4kW; larger inverters need more batteries in parallel to supply them properly without stressing the cells.
How heavy is it, and what does that mean for the rack?
About 94.8 lbs. Four of these in a rack is nearly 380 lbs, so the rack needs to be rated for it and the floor needs to take it. Worth confirming both before delivery rather than after.
Why lithium iron phosphate rather than another lithium chemistry?
LFP trades a little energy density for a great deal of safety and service life. It does not have the thermal runaway behaviour nickel-based lithium chemistries can exhibit, it tolerates sitting at a high state of charge, and it lasts thousands of cycles rather than hundreds. For a battery living in a house, those are the properties that matter.
