Do these kits include a battery or an inverter?
No. ACOPOWER lists the panels and charge controller for these kits and no battery. If you want a complete system with batteries and an inverter, ask us about the ACOPOWER GEL battery kits, or call (303) 876-7654.
What cables, brackets, and connectors are included?
ACOPOWER does not publish a per-kit list of cables, connectors, or mounting hardware for these kits. Call (303) 876-7654 before you order and we'll confirm exactly what ships with the size you choose.
Should I get PWM or MPPT?
MPPT controllers accept higher panel voltage than PWM controllers, which suits larger arrays, series wiring, and longer cable runs. The 20A PWM controller is limited to 50V of PV input, so it fits the small 100W and 200W kits. Call (303) 876-7654 and we'll help you choose.
Is the 800W kit a good fit for a 12V battery bank?
The 60A MPPT controller is rated for 750W of solar at 12V, which is a little under the 800W of panels in the 800W kit. At 24V or higher the controller handles 1,500W and up, so the 800W kit is best paired with a 24V or 48V battery bank. Call (303) 876-7654 if you are planning one.
Which maximum PV voltage should I design to on the 50A and 60A controllers?
ACOPOWER lists two figures for those controllers, 150V and 138V. Design to the lower figure: keep the open-circuit voltage of your series string, including cold-weather voltage rise, under 138V. Call (303) 876-7654 and we'll check your layout.
What is the warranty?
ACOPOWER lists a 5-year workmanship warranty and a 25-year, 85% output warranty on the panels, a 1-year warranty on the controllers, and a 1-year material warranty on accessories. Coverage starts from the original purchase date and requires proof of purchase.
