What can 300 W actually run?
A laptop, phones and tablets, a CPAP machine, a router and modem, LED lighting, a small fan, a compact TV, and most camera and drone gear. It will not run a kettle, a microwave, a space heater, a coffee maker or a full-size refrigerator. If any of those are on your list, this is the wrong size and the C1000 Gen 2 is where to look.
How long will it run my CPAP?
Most CPAP machines draw somewhere between 30 and 60 W without a humidifier, so 299 Wh covers a night comfortably and often two. Running the heated humidifier can triple that draw and cut you to a single night or less, so switch it off if you are relying on battery power.
What is the surge rating?
Anker publishes two different figures for this unit. The A1721 datasheet lists AC surge power at 450 W, while Anker's retail listings describe 300 W with a 600 W peak. We would size your load against the 300 W rated figure and treat any surge headroom as a margin rather than a capability you plan around. Can I expand the capacity?
No. The 522 has no expansion battery option, so 299 Wh is what you have. If you think you will want more later, the C2000 Gen 2 expands to 4,096 Wh and is the model that grows with you.
Can I charge it from solar?
Yes, from a compatible Anker SOLIX portable panel. That is what turns it from a weekend unit into something you can run indefinitely off-grid, at least for the small loads it is sized for.
Is LiFePO4 worth paying for at this size?
It is the main reason to choose this over a cheaper unit. Anker rates the cells at 3,000 or more cycles to 80 percent capacity against a few hundred for the NMC packs common at the low end. Over a decade of occasional use that is the difference between a product that still works and one that does not.
Will it power my devices during a home outage?

Does it work as a UPS?
