Anker SOLIX Power Dock for E10: 200 A Automatic Whole-Home Backup With Per-Circuit Control
The Power Dock is the automatic half of the E10 story. It is a 200 A automatic transfer switch and combiner in one, installed either as your main service entrance or as a subpanel, and it isolates the house from the grid and restores backup power in 20 milliseconds or less. Nobody walks to the panel and nobody flips anything.
It also does two things the Smart Inlet Box cannot. It parallels up to three E10 units for 23.04 kW continuous and up to 30 kW in turbo mode, which is genuinely enough for multiple air conditioning systems. And it gives you twelve individually monitored circuits with priority rules and five energy management modes in the Anker app, so a long outage sheds the right loads instead of everything at once.

Switchover from grid to battery is 20 ms or less, and back to grid is instantaneous. Fast enough that a desktop computer, a modem and a variable-speed HVAC controller never notice.

E10 power and battery modules are sold separately. The cable joining the Power Dock to each E10 is 5.9 ft (1.8 m), so plan the mounting positions around it. When three E10 units are connected, two battery circuit breakers must be installed inside the ATS box. Anker puts a typical Power Dock installation at four to six hours and notes that a permit is generally required from your local authority having jurisdiction. This is a main service entrance device and must be installed by a licensed electrician.

How is this different from the Smart Inlet Box?
Three ways that matter. The Power Dock transfers automatically in 20 ms while the Smart Inlet Box requires you to operate breakers and an interlock by hand. The Power Dock parallels up to three E10 units for 23.04 kW continuous while the Smart Inlet Box supports one unit at 7.68 kW. And the Power Dock has twelve monitored circuits with priority rules, which the Smart Inlet Box does not have at all. The Smart Inlet Box costs less and installs in about half the time.
Does it back up my whole house?
It can. Installed as the main service entrance it covers the entire panel up to 200 A. Installed as a subpanel it covers only the circuits you move onto it, which is a common choice when the whole-panel load is larger than the battery bank can sensibly carry.
How much power can three E10 units deliver?
23.04 kW continuous and up to 30 kW in turbo mode. Turbo sustains for up to 90 minutes per unit and requires a starting temperature below 86 F with at least two battery modules per E10. Anker rates a dual E10 setup at 275 A LRA, which it describes as enough to start a 5-ton and a 3-ton air conditioning system at the same time.
What happens during a long outage if I cannot run everything?
This is what the twelve smart circuits are for. You set supply priority rules ahead of time in the Anker app, so when capacity gets tight the system sheds the circuits you nominated rather than tripping on overload. You can also monitor consumption per circuit to find out what is actually draining the bank.
Can it send power back to the grid?
No. Neither the Power Dock nor the Smart Inlet Box supports export to the grid. The system stores surplus for your own use rather than selling it back, so if net metering is central to your economics this is not the right product.
What does installation involve?
A licensed electrician locates the ATS box with a marking template, drills and mounts it, and wires it to your main electrical panel. Anker puts a typical installation at four to six hours. A permit is generally required from your local authority having jurisdiction, and in many areas the utility must pull the meter seal first.
How far can the Power Dock be from the E10?
5.9 ft (1.8 m), which is the length of the plug-and-play cable between the combiner box and each E10 inverter. Settle both mounting positions before anyone drills.
Can I still charge the E10 from a wall outlet after installing the Power Dock?
No. Once the Power Dock is connected it takes over all power management and the E10's own 120 V AC charging cable stops working. Charging then comes through the Power Dock, from solar, or from a generator.
Can I add solar to this later?
Yes, from both directions. The E10 takes DC solar directly through its dual MPPTs at up to 9 kW per unit. For AC-coupled rooftop solar you already own, the included PV current transformer lets the system see production so it can bank surplus. Circuits 7 and 8 are rated for AC solar at 80 A maximum.
Can I install it outdoors?
Yes. NEMA 3R enclosure, rated -4 F to 131 F. Wall mounting only. It is a 60 lb unit measuring 36 inches tall, so confirm you have the wall space and the structure before ordering.
