The IYILO 48A Plug-In is a Level 2 EV charger that plugs into a standard NEMA 14-50 outlet and can later convert to hardwired for full 48A output. It works with all non-Tesla EVs via the J1772 connector and gives you a fast start now with room to upgrade.
Best for: Non-Tesla EV owners who want plug-in convenience today and the option to unlock full 48A speed later by hardwiring, without buying a new charger.

Why does it only show 40A in plug-in mode? Per NEC requirements, the maximum current for a NEMA 14-50 plug-in charger is limited to 40A. To use the full 48A, convert it to the hardwired configuration on a 60A circuit.
How do I convert it to 48A? Replace the NEMA 14-50 input cable with a hardwired connection (6 AWG wiring and 1" liquid-tight conduit recommended). A conduit fitting is included in the box. Use a licensed electrician.
How fast does it charge? About 38 miles of range per hour at 40A plug-in, and up to about 46 miles per hour at 48A once hardwired.
Will it work with my car? It uses the J1772 connector, so it works with all non-Tesla EVs and plug-in hybrids. Tesla owners can use a J1772-to-NACS adapter (not included), or choose a NACS model.
Is it weatherproof? Yes. The NEMA 4 enclosure is rated for indoor or outdoor use. Avoid high-corrosion coastal installs.
