2000W Continuous · 6000W Surge · 12V · Low Frequency · 10ms Transfer
SunGoldPower 2000W 12V Pure Sine Wave Inverter with Charger (LFP2K12V120VSG)
A low-frequency transformer-based inverter-charger: 2000W continuous, 6000W for twenty seconds. That surge figure is the whole point — three times continuous rating for long enough to start a compressor, a pump or a power tool that a same-rated high-frequency inverter would refuse.
120V pure sine wave output, a built-in three-stage charger with nine selectable battery profiles, a 10ms transfer switch, and auto generator start through a 16A relay. A wired remote and LCD display are included. Renewable Outdoors is an authorized SunGoldPower dealer — call us at (303) 876-7654 and we'll check it against your loads.

Why the LFP 2000W
6000W Surge for 20 Seconds
Three times continuous rating, held long enough to actually start a motor rather than trip.
Low-Frequency Transformer Design
Heavier and more expensive to build than a high-frequency inverter, and far more tolerant of difficult loads.
Nine Battery Charge Profiles
Gel, AGM, flooded, several lithium options and LiFePO4 — selected on the unit, not guessed at.
10ms Transfer Switch
Fast enough that most electronics ride through the switch between shore power and battery.
Auto Generator Start
A 16A relay starts the generator when the battery falls low and stops it once charging finishes.
Wired Remote and LCD
Mount the display where you can see it rather than where the inverter happens to fit.
This is a low-frequency transformer-based inverter, which is why it is heavy and why it handles motor startup so well. It has no solar input — it inverts from a battery and charges from AC. If you want solar built in, look at SunGoldPower's SPH and SGN series instead. Call us at (303) 876-7654 and we'll make sure you're buying the right type.
SunGoldPower's manufacturer warranty covers every LFP Series inverter we sell.

SunGoldPower 2000W 12V Pure Sine Wave Inverter with Charger (LFP2K12V120VSG): Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a solar inverter?
No, and this is the most important thing to get right before ordering. This is a low-frequency inverter-charger: it converts battery power to AC, and it charges the battery from an AC source such as shore power or a generator. It has no solar input and no MPPT charge controller. If you want to charge from solar panels, you need either a separate charge controller alongside this, or one of SunGoldPower's SPH or SGN series solar inverters instead.
Why is a low-frequency inverter better for motors?
Because the transformer inside it can deliver a very large surge for a short period — three times its continuous rating for twenty seconds here. Motors, compressors, pumps and power tools all draw far more current starting than running, and a high-frequency inverter of the same continuous rating will often trip trying to start them. The trade-off is weight and idle consumption: a transformer is heavy, and it draws power just sitting there.
What can 2000W actually run?
A refrigerator, a microwave, a television, lighting, laptop and phone charging, a modest air compressor, most corded power tools one at a time. What it will not do is a full-size electric kettle plus a microwave simultaneously, or an air conditioner much above 12,000 BTU. Call us at (303) 876-7654 with your load list and we'll add it up with you.
Why does it draw 28W doing nothing?
That's the transformer. A low-frequency design keeps its transformer energised whenever the inverter is on, which costs you around 28W continuously — about 0.7kWh a day. Power saver mode drops that to 13W. On a large battery bank it's a rounding error; on a small one it matters, and you should switch the inverter off when you're not using it.
Can I charge from solar with this?
Not directly — you would need a separate MPPT charge controller between your panels and the battery. Plenty of people run exactly that arrangement and it works well, because it lets you size the controller independently. But if you're starting from scratch, an all-in-one solar inverter is usually simpler and cheaper overall.
Does it work with lithium batteries?
Yes — there are several lithium and LiFePO4 profiles among the nine selectable battery types. Set the correct profile before you charge; a lead-acid profile on a lithium battery either undercharges it or holds it at a damaging voltage. There is no BMS communication on this model, so the inverter cannot read your battery's state of charge.
How does the auto generator start work?
A 16A dry-contact relay closes when the battery voltage falls to your set threshold, which starts a generator equipped to accept a remote start signal. When charging completes, the relay opens and the generator stops. It's a genuinely useful feature for an off-grid cabin you don't want to babysit.
Is 41.9 lbs normal for a 2000W inverter?
For a low-frequency one, yes. A high-frequency 2000W inverter might weigh eight pounds. The weight is the transformer, and the transformer is what gives you the 6000W surge. If weight is your priority rather than surge capability, a high-frequency unit is the better choice.
Do I need a licensed electrician?
For anything that connects to your home's electrical service, yes — that is permitted, inspected work in every US jurisdiction. A standalone off-grid setup in a cabin or a workshop with no utility connection is treated differently depending on where you are, but the wiring still has to be done to code. Call us at (303) 876-7654 and we'll talk through what your installation will need.
Do you offer financing or price matching?
Yes. We offer 0% APR financing options through Affirm at checkout, and our Lowest Price Guarantee applies — if you find this cheaper at another authorized dealer, call us at (303) 876-7654 before you order and we'll take care of it.
