Battery Option: Inverter Only
8000W · 120/240V Split Phase · 11kW Solar · 2 MPPTs · 6 Parallel · UL 1741

SunGoldPower 8KW 48V Split Phase Solar Inverter (SPH8048P)

8000W of continuous split-phase output from a single box, with an inverter, two MPPT charge controllers and a 100A AC charger all inside one enclosure. 120/240V output means it drives a well pump, an electric range or a dryer directly rather than needing a second unit and a coupling hub.

Two MPPT trackers accept up to 11,000W of PV across a 125–425V window, with 180A of solar charging current and 200A of total battery charging. Six units run in parallel for 48kW, in 120V single phase, 120/240V split phase, or 208V three phase. UL 1741 certified by ETL, WiFi monitoring included. Renewable Outdoors is an authorized SunGoldPower dealer — call us at (303) 876-7654 and we'll size it against your loads.

Why the SunGoldPower 8KW SPH8048P

8000W, 16,000W Peak

Enough for a whole house on essentials, with peak headroom for motor and compressor startup.

120/240V Split Phase

True split phase from one unit — a well pump, a range or a dryer runs directly.

11kW Solar Across 2 MPPTs

125–425V operating window with 22A per tracker and 180A of solar charging current.

Six Units in Parallel

Up to 48kW, configurable as 120V single phase, 120/240V split phase, or 208V three phase.

CAN and RS485 BMS Comms

Closed-loop communication with SunGoldPower batteries, so charging follows the battery's own limits.

UL 1741 by ETL

Certified for off-grid solar systems, with IEC 62109 and FCC Part 15B compliance.

Inverter Only, or With Batteries?

The inverter is the same in every option. What changes is whether storage comes with it.

Option What You Get Best For
Inverter Only The inverter on its own You already own compatible 48V batteries, or you are buying storage separately
With SG48100P batteries The inverter plus 5.12kWh server-rack batteries A straightforward matched system with closed-loop CAN communication out of the box
With SG48200T batteries The inverter plus 10.24kWh Powerwall X batteries Double the storage per unit, with an LCD touch-screen panel on each battery

Buying the inverter and batteries together matters more than convenience: SunGoldPower's own batteries communicate with these inverters over CAN and RS485, so the inverter reads real state of charge and charge limits from the battery BMS rather than estimating from voltage. Third-party 48V batteries work electrically, but closed-loop communication varies. Call us at (303) 876-7654 and we'll confirm your pairing.

SunGoldPower 8KW 48V Split Phase Solar Inverter (SPH8048P): Frequently Asked Questions

What does split phase give me that a 120V inverter doesn't?
It produces the same two-leg 240V supply your utility does, so 240V appliances — a well pump, an electric dryer, a range, a central air handler — run directly from it. A 120V-only inverter cannot do that at all, and many competing systems need two units plus a coupling hub to achieve it. This does it from one box.
How much can 8000W actually back up?
For most homes, the essentials plus a fair amount more: a refrigerator, a freezer, lighting, networking, a well pump and a moderate air conditioner together. Whether it covers your whole panel depends on your simultaneous load, not your service size. Call us at (303) 876-7654 with your panel schedule and we'll go through it circuit by circuit.
How much solar can I connect?
Up to 11,000W across two MPPTs, each accepting 22A within a 125–425V window and a 500V maximum. Solar charging current maxes at 180A. Oversizing the array relative to the inverter is normal practice and worth doing, because it lifts output in poor light and in winter.
Which batteries should I pair with it?
It works with any 48V lithium or lead-acid bank electrically, but closed-loop CAN or RS485 communication is what you actually want — it lets the inverter charge to the battery's real limits rather than to a voltage guess. SunGoldPower's SG48100P and SG48200T do this out of the box, which is why we offer them as bundle options.
Can I run it without batteries at first?
Yes. It supports battery-free activation from grid or PV, so you can install solar now and add storage later. That's a genuinely useful path when the budget is staged.
Can this sell power back to the grid?
No. The SPH series is an off-grid and backup platform — it accepts grid or generator power as an input to charge your batteries and to pass through to your loads, but it does not export to the utility. If grid export or net metering is what you want, SunGoldPower's SGN hybrid series is the range to look at instead.
How many can I parallel, and what does that give me?
Six units, for 48kW. In parallel it can be configured as 120V single phase, 120/240V split phase, or 208V three phase with three or more units — which puts light commercial three-phase within reach of the same platform.
Does the generator start automatically?
Yes, through the dry contact. The inverter can call the generator when the batteries fall to your chosen threshold and shut it down when they're full. On a multi-day outage that's the difference between a system you manage and one that manages itself.
Do I need a licensed electrician?
For anything that connects to your home's electrical service, yes — that is permitted, inspected work in every US jurisdiction. A standalone off-grid system in a cabin or workshop with no utility connection is treated differently depending on where you are, but the wiring still has to be done to code. Call us at (303) 876-7654 and we'll talk through what your installation needs.
Do you offer financing or price matching?
Yes. We offer 0% APR financing options through Affirm at checkout, and our Lowest Price Guarantee applies — if you find this cheaper at another authorized dealer, call us at (303) 876-7654 before you order and we'll take care of it.
