How does this differ from the SPH series?
Fundamentally. The SPH inverters are off-grid and backup units — they take grid power in but never export. This is a grid-interactive hybrid: it operates off-grid, grid-tied or hybrid, carries UL 1741 SA and SB grid-support certification, and can work alongside your utility. It's also far more efficient at 96.5% against 92%, has three MPPTs instead of two, and is NEMA 3R rated for outdoor mounting.
How much solar can I connect?
15,000W across three MPPT trackers, within a wide 70–540V window. The first tracker takes 30A and the other two take 22A each. Three trackers means three roof faces or three string orientations without one dragging down the others.
What can it back up?
11,400W continuous with 150% peak for ten seconds. For most homes that covers everything you'd run simultaneously — air conditioning, a well pump, a range, a dryer, plus the ordinary household load. Which batteries work with it?
Lithium-ion or lead-acid, with CAN communication for closed-loop BMS integration. SunGoldPower's own SG48100P and SG48200T support that directly. At 210A of charge and discharge you want a bank rated for it — pairing a large inverter with a small battery is the most common mistake we see.
Can I mount it outside?
Yes — NEMA 3R rated and specified from −25°C to 60°C, which is unusually wide. At 103.6 lbs and 35.5 inches tall, plan the wall structure and the lift; this is a two-person installation.
Does it support AC coupling?
Yes. If you already have a grid-tied solar array with its own inverter, AC coupling lets you add battery backup without rewiring the array. It's the standard route for retrofitting storage onto existing solar.
What is the warranty?
SunGoldPower's own documentation states a 5-year and 10-year structure for this model, which suggests a base term with an extension.
