Epoch 24V 230Ah V2 Elite Series LiFePO4 Battery (5.89kWh)

The same 5,888Wh as Epoch's 12V flagship, delivered at 24V — which halves your current for the same power and therefore halves the cable you need. For 24V trolling motors, marine house banks and inverter systems, that's the whole argument: less copper, less voltage drop, less heat.

230Ah at 25.6V in a Group 8D case, IP67 sealed against dust and immersion, internally heated so it charges down to −22°F, and CANbus-connected to the Victron ecosystem with DVCC support. Up to sixteen batteries in parallel — roughly 94kWh — on a single app dashboard. UL1973 certified pack with an 11-year warranty. Renewable Outdoors is an authorized Epoch dealer — call us at (303) 876-7654 and we'll size the bank with you.

Why the V2 Elite 24V 230Ah

24V Halves Your Cable

The same 5.89kWh at twice the voltage means half the current — smaller conductors, less loss, less heat.

230Ah — 5,888Wh

A single Group 8D case replacing a series pair of 12V batteries and the balance problems that come with them.

IP67 Sealed

Dust-tight and rated for immersion to one metre for thirty minutes — suitable for a bilge or an open locker.

Self-Heating to −22°F

Charges in genuinely cold conditions, where an unheated lithium battery would simply refuse.

Victron CANbus

BMS-CAN to a Victron GX device with DVCC, so the system charges to the battery's own limits.

Sixteen in Parallel

Up to 3,680Ah — about 94kWh — plug-and-play, on one app dashboard.

Epoch 24V 230Ah V2 Elite Series LiFePO4 Battery (5.89kWh): Frequently Asked Questions

Why choose 24V over 12V?
Power is voltage times current, so at 24V you draw half the amps for the same watts. That means smaller cable, lower voltage drop over a long run, less heat and cheaper conductors — which matters a great deal on a boat with a 24V trolling motor or an inverter system some distance from the bank. If your equipment is 24V, this is the straightforward answer; if it's 12V, buy the 12V version rather than adding a converter.
How does 230Ah at 24V compare with 460Ah at 12V?
They store exactly the same energy — 5,888Wh in both cases. The difference is entirely about the voltage your system runs at. Neither is 'bigger'; they're the same battery capacity expressed at different voltages.
Can I wire two in series for 48V?
Yes, up to two in series for a 48V nominal system. Beyond that, Epoch's 48V 100Ah V2 Elite is the purpose-built option and avoids series balancing altogether. We can compare the two approaches for your system on (303) 876-7654.
What will it run on a boat?
5.89kWh is a substantial house bank: a 24V trolling motor for a full day of fishing, or a fridge, lighting, electronics and a modest inverter load for a couple of days at anchor. Tell us your loads and we'll work the runtime out with you rather than guessing.
Does the IP67 rating really matter?
On a boat, yes. IP67 means dust-tight and able to survive thirty minutes submerged in a metre of water. Most RV-grade lithium batteries are IP54 or IP65, which is splash resistance. If the battery lives anywhere that can take on water — a bilge, a deck locker, an open engine bay — this is the specification you want.
How does the Victron integration work?
The battery reports state of charge, cell temperatures and charge limits to a Victron GX device over BMS-CAN. Enable DVCC and set the controlling BMS to Epoch, and the Victron system charges to the battery's own limits rather than to a preset profile. Your display then shows the battery's real state of charge.
Why lithium iron phosphate rather than another lithium chemistry?
LFP trades a little energy density for a great deal of safety and service life. It doesn't have the thermal runaway behaviour nickel-based lithium chemistries can exhibit, it tolerates sitting at a high state of charge, and it lasts thousands of cycles rather than hundreds. For a battery in a boat, an RV or a house, those are the properties that matter.
Do I need a lithium-specific charger?
Yes. A lead-acid charger's absorption and float voltages are wrong for LFP — it will either leave the battery short of full or hold it at a voltage that shortens its life. Any charger with a LiFePO4 profile works; we stock Epoch's own matched chargers in 12V, 24V, 36V and 48V.
How long will it last?
3,500+ cycles, behind an 11-year limited warranty. For seasonal marine use that's effectively the life of the boat; for daily off-grid cycling it's the better part of a decade.
Do you offer financing or price matching?
Yes. We offer 0% APR financing options through Affirm at checkout, and our Lowest Price Guarantee applies — if you find this battery cheaper at another authorized dealer, call us at (303) 876-7654 before you order and we'll take care of it.
