Does the Explorer 300D have a normal wall outlet?
No. This is a deliberately DC-only design — USB-C, USB-A and a 12V car socket. Removing the AC inverter is what makes it 64% smaller than a typical 300Wh unit and completely silent. If you need a household plug, the Explorer 300 v2 has the same capacity with two AC outlets.
So what can it actually run?
Anything that charges over USB or plugs into a car socket: phones, tablets, laptops, cameras, drones, headlamps, portable speakers, a CPAP with a DC lead, a 12V cooler, a tyre inflator. What it can't run is anything with a two-prong wall plug.
How long will 288Wh last?
Divide 288 by the draw. A 60W laptop runs about four hours. A 45W 12V cooler runs six or seven. A phone gets around 20 full charges. For an overnight CPAP without a humidifier, expect two nights on a DC lead.
How fast does it charge?
About an hour to 80% from a wall outlet using the supplied AC cable. From a SolarSaga 100 panel it's roughly 3.5 hours in good sun, and about 3 hours from a car socket.
What is the AC charging cable that doubles as a handle?
Exactly what it sounds like — the charging cable clips across the top of the unit and forms the carrying handle when it isn't plugged in. It means the one cable you always need is the one you can't leave behind.
Is it quiet enough to sleep next to?
Yes. It's fanless and has no inverter, so it produces no noise at all. That's a real difference from most power stations, which run a cooling fan whenever they're working hard.
Can I leave it charged in an emergency kit?
