EcoFlow DELTA Pro Ultra X Whole-Home Backup Power
This is EcoFlow's flagship home backup system, and the distinction that matters is that it backs up your whole home rather than a chosen handful of circuits. A single inverter delivers 12kW at full 120/240V service — enough for HVAC, a well pump, an electric range — and an Adaptive Start algorithm handles surges to 45kW, which is what it takes to start a 5-ton air conditioner.
Storage runs from 12.288kWh with two batteries up to roughly 184kWh with thirty, and output scales to 36kW with three inverters in parallel. Because the inverter and batteries are a standalone floor-standing unit rather than a wall-mounted grid-tied array, permitting is usually simpler and EcoFlow quotes installation in as little as seven days. Transfer to battery happens in under 20 milliseconds. Renewable Outdoors is an authorized EcoFlow dealer — call us and we'll size it against your actual panel.

Why the DELTA Pro Ultra X
Starts a 5-Ton AC
12kW continuous, and an Adaptive Start algorithm that identifies each appliance and tailors its startup — absorbing surges to 45kW without tripping.
12kWh to 184kWh
Add plug-in batteries with no tools — up to ten per inverter and thirty across three, so the system grows with you instead of being replaced.
Installed in About a Week
A standalone floor-standing unit with no wall mounting, so approval is typically faster and simpler than a grid-tied system.
Works in Real Weather
Heats the batteries for safe charging in extreme cold and keeps charging at up to 113°F, in an IP54 enclosure rated for indoor or outdoor siting.
Dual BMS, 3-Layer Safety
A local X-Guard BMS with 44+ safeguards plus a cloud BMS running 100+ anomaly detectors, sampling circuits 1.2 million times a second.
No Wasted Solar
With the Current Sense Transformer, surplus solar is redirected into your batteries rather than exported back to the utility for pennies.

None included — add a gateway or panel separately
You already have a transfer switch or home panel, or you're phasing the project and want the core system first
1 Inverter + 2 Batteries + Smart Gateway 200A
12kW
12.288kWh
Smart Gateway 200A
Whole-home automatic backup at the lowest cost, without per-circuit control
1 Inverter + 2 Batteries + Smart Home Panel 3
12kW
12.288kWh
Smart Home Panel 3 (32 circuits)
You want per-circuit priority control and load shedding, which extends backup time by up to 42%
2 Inverters + 4 Batteries + Smart Home Panel 3
24kW
24.576kWh
Smart Home Panel 3 (32 circuits)
Large homes, heavy simultaneous loads, or genuine off-grid ambitions — double the output and double the storage
The real decision here is the integration piece, not the battery count — you can add batteries any time, but changing how the system ties into your house means bringing the electrician back. The Smart Gateway 200A gives you automatic whole-home backup; the Smart Home Panel 3 adds 32 circuits of individual priority control and the load shedding that stretches runtime by up to 42%. Call us at (303) 876-7654 with a photo of your breaker panel and we'll tell you which one actually fits.

You may see this system's ceiling quoted as either 180kWh or 184.32kWh — both refer to the same thing. 180kWh is the round marketing figure; thirty 6,144Wh batteries across three inverters comes to 184.32kWh precisely.
Both links go to EcoFlow's own manuals library. Your electrician will want the installation documentation during the site assessment, so it's worth downloading before the visit.

EcoFlow DELTA Pro Ultra X: Frequently Asked Questions
Can it really run my whole house, including air conditioning?
A single inverter delivers 12kW at full 120/240V service, and its Adaptive Start algorithm handles surges to 45kW — enough to start a 5-ton air conditioner, which is the load that defeats most backup systems. For very large homes or heavy simultaneous loads, two inverters take you to 24kW and three to 36kW. Call us at (303) 876-7654 with your panel details and we'll check it properly.
Should I get the Smart Gateway or the Smart Home Panel 3?
The Smart Gateway 200A gives you automatic whole-home backup at a lower cost. The Smart Home Panel 3 adds 32 individually controlled circuits, so you can tag appliances by priority and have non-essentials throttled during an outage — which EcoFlow measures as up to 42% longer backup time. If you expect long outages, the panel usually earns its extra cost. If you just want the lights to stay on, the gateway is enough.
How much storage do I actually need?
The 12.288kWh starting point covers a typical home overnight, or considerably longer if you're shedding non-essential loads. Multi-day outages or off-grid living push you toward more. Since batteries are plug-in and tool-free to add, it's reasonable to start at two and expand once you've seen how your real usage behaves.
How long does installation take?
EcoFlow quotes as little as seven days, which is unusually fast for whole-home backup. The reason is that the inverter and batteries are a standalone floor-standing unit needing no wall mounting, and the system generally clears approval faster than a grid-tied installation. Actual timing depends on your local permitting authority.
Does it need professional installation?
Yes. Connecting to your home's electrical service through a Smart Gateway or Smart Home Panel 3 is licensed electrical work, and installation is quoted separately after a site assessment. Adding batteries later is plug-and-play and doesn't require an electrician.
Can it be installed outdoors, and will it work in winter?
Yes to both. The enclosure is IP54 rated for indoor or outdoor installation, the inverter operates from −4°F to 122°F, and the batteries actively heat themselves so they can charge safely in extreme cold. High-temperature protection also allows charging up to 113°F.
What happens to surplus solar?
With EcoFlow's Current Sense Transformer, extra solar production is redirected into your batteries instead of being exported to the utility. Since export rates are typically a fraction of retail, storing it is usually worth more to you than selling it.
How fast does it switch over during an outage?
Under 20 milliseconds when paired with the Smart Home Panel 3 or Smart Gateway. In practice the lights don't flicker, Wi-Fi stays connected, and computers and game consoles keep running without rebooting.
Can I run a generator into it?
Yes. The system accepts up to 12kW of AC input at 50A and is compatible with gas and propane generators, so you can recharge during a long outage with no sun. Solar, grid, and generator charging are all supported.
How is this different from the original DELTA Pro Ultra?
The Ultra X is the newer, larger generation: 12kW output per inverter against the original's 7.2kW, ten batteries per inverter instead of five, and a system ceiling of roughly 184kWh instead of 90kWh. The two use different battery packs, so they aren't interchangeable — if you already own an original Ultra, call us before ordering anything.
