Does the inverter come with batteries?
No. The inverter ships with its stand, casters, PV switch box, and cables, but no batteries — it needs at least one DELTA Pro Ultra X Smart Extra Battery to store and deliver power. If you'd rather buy the complete system in one go, the DELTA Pro Ultra X Whole-Home Backup Power bundles include the inverter, batteries, and a smart home panel together.
Can it really run my whole house?
A single unit delivers 12kW continuous at 120/240V, which covers most homes including central air, an electric range, and a well pump. How much battery capacity can I connect?
Up to ten DELTA Pro Ultra X batteries per inverter, which is 61.44kWh. Across three inverters in parallel the system ceiling is 180kWh. A typical starting point is two batteries, or 12.288kWh.
How much solar can I connect?
10kW total, split across two independent PV ports rated 5,000W each with an 80–500V operating window and 15A per port. Your installer will size string lengths to stay inside that voltage window at your coldest expected temperature.
What does "under 20ms switchover" mean in practice?
When grid power fails, the inverter takes over the load in less than a fiftieth of a second — fast enough that computers, network gear, and medical equipment don't reboot or register the interruption. Slower transfer switches leave a gap long enough to drop sensitive electronics.
Can I install it outdoors?
It carries an IP54 rating and operates from −4°F to 122°F, which suits a garage, carport, or sheltered exterior wall. IP54 protects against dust and splashing water rather than driving rain or submersion, so we wouldn't mount it fully exposed on a weather-facing wall.
Will it work with my existing DELTA Pro Ultra batteries?
The Ultra X is a newer generation than the original DELTA Pro Ultra, and the two use different battery packs. Don't assume your existing batteries will carry over — call us at (303) 876-7654 with what you own and we'll confirm compatibility before you order.
Do I need an electrician to install it?
Yes. Connecting the inverter to your home's electrical service — whether through a transfer switch or an EcoFlow smart home panel — involves 120/240V service wiring, grounding, and usually a permit and inspection. That's work for a licensed electrician. Adding batteries afterwards is plug-and-play.
Can I charge from a generator?
Yes. The inverter accepts up to 12kW of AC input at 50A and is compatible with generator charging as well as grid and solar, so you can top the batteries up during an extended outage with no sun.
