This adapter lets a DELTA Pro, DELTA Max, DELTA 2 Max or DELTA 2 act as an emergency charger for an electric vehicle. EVs will not accept a charge from an ungrounded source, and a portable power station isn't grounded by default — the adapter provides the reference the car is looking for.

It's an emergency measure rather than a substitute for a charger: enough range to reach a station, not a way to fill a battery overnight. But if you've ever worried about running out of charge somewhere remote, it's a reassuring thing to have in the trunk.
