What can 1800W run?
A full-size refrigerator, a microwave, a coffee maker, a toaster, a 1500W space heater, most power tools, a sump pump, a TV and networking gear — one or two at a time. With 3600W of surge headroom it also handles the startup spike from motors, which is what actually trips smaller units. What it won't do is a 240V appliance like an electric dryer or a well pump.
How long will 1536Wh last in an outage?
Divide 1536 by your draw. A fridge, some LED lighting, a router and phone charging comes to roughly 250W, which is about six hours. Drop the fridge to its actual duty cycle and it's often twelve or more. Add a 1500W space heater and you're down to under an hour. Can I add an extra battery to it?
No — this model doesn't support an expansion battery, so 1536Wh is what you have. That's a real consideration if you expect your needs to grow. The HomePower 2000 Plus v2 expands to 12kWh and the HomePower 3600 Pro Max to 43kWh if you want a system you can grow into.
How much solar can I connect?
Up to 800W, through a 16–60V window at 12A per input, doubling to 24A. At the full 800W it charges in around 2.5 hours of good sun. The two-panel bundle on this page gives you 400W, which is a sensible starting point with room to add more.
Does it work as a UPS?
Yes. It transfers to battery automatically within 20 milliseconds, which is fast enough for desktops, routers, NAS boxes and most home electronics. For medical equipment, verify the tolerance with the device manufacturer first rather than assuming.
How heavy is it, really?
About 38.6 lbs. That's a two-hand lift but a genuine one-person job for most people, and it's noticeably lighter than the 50-plus pounds typical of older 1500Wh units. It'll go in a car boot or a truck bed without a second pair of hands.
Can I use it indoors?
Yes. There's no combustion and no exhaust, which is why battery power stations have largely replaced small gas generators for indoor use. Keep it somewhere dry with airflow around the vents and it's happy in a hallway, a basement or a garage.
Will it charge from my car?
Yes, at 12–16V and up to 8A, using the supplied car charging cable. It's slow compared with wall or solar charging, but on a long drive it's energy you'd otherwise not have.
How does the app help?
Bluetooth and 2.4GHz Wi-Fi let you see state of charge, current draw and solar input from your phone, and switch the AC and DC outputs on and off. When the unit is in a garage or a basement during an outage, not having to go and look at it is worth more than it sounds.
