EcoFlow WAVE 3 Portable Air Conditioner

The WAVE 3 is a real heat-pump air conditioner rather than an evaporative cooler: 6100 BTU of cooling that drops a space 15°F in about 15 minutes, and 6800 BTU of heating for the other half of the year. It switches between the two automatically as temperatures change overnight.

With the add-on battery it runs up to 8 hours completely untethered — a full night — and in Sleep Mode it operates at 44dB, about the level of quiet conversation. It also dehumidifies, has a pet-care mode that holds a safe temperature range while you're out, and sends an app alert before the water tank fills. Why the WAVE 3

15°F Drop in 15 Minutes

6100 BTU of real compressor cooling — it actually removes heat rather than just moving humid air around.

6800 BTU of Heating Too

It switches to heating automatically when temperatures drop, so the same unit earns its space year-round instead of sitting idle half the time.

8 Hours Off-Grid

With the add-on battery it runs a full night untethered — and the battery refills in as little as 75 minutes on combined AC and solar.

44dB Sleep Mode

About the level of quiet conversation, which is the difference between an air conditioner you can sleep beside and one you can't.

Pet Care Mode

Hold a set temperature range through the app while you're out, so a pet left indoors isn't at risk of heatstroke.

Dehumidifies, and Warns You

Adjustable humidity control for damp seasons, plus an app alert before the water tank fills so performance never quietly drops off.

Choose Your Configuration

The WAVE 3 needs a power source to run untethered, and the eight configurations are really three different answers to that question.

Configuration Power Approach Off-Grid Runtime Best For
Wave 3 Only Mains power, or a power station you already own None on its own Home, workshop, or garage use — or if you've already got a DELTA to run it from
+ Add-on Battery Purpose-built battery that clips to the unit Up to 8 hours Tent and van camping — the tidiest package, and a full night of cooling
+ Add-on Battery + 220W Solar Panel Battery plus solar recharging 8 hours, recharged daily by sun Multi-day off-grid stays where you cool at night and recharge through the day
+ Add-on Battery + 800W Alternator Charger Battery recharged from your vehicle's engine 8 hours, refilled while driving Overlanding and road trips — the battery refills as you drive between sites
+ DELTA 3 Plus 1024Wh power station Roughly 1.5 hours of cooling People who want a power station for other gear too, accepting shorter AC runtime
+ DELTA 2 1024Wh power station Roughly 1.5 hours of cooling Same trade-off as the DELTA 3 Plus pairing, on the older platform
+ DELTA 2 Max 2048Wh power station Roughly 3 hours of cooling A middle ground — useful cooling time plus a power station for everything else
+ DELTA Pro 3600Wh power station Roughly 5–5.5 hours of cooling Serious off-grid setups — long cooling plus home-backup-grade capacity

Read the runtime column carefully before choosing a power station bundle. The WAVE 3 draws about 640W cooling on DC, so a 1024Wh power station gives roughly an hour and a half, not a night. If your goal is sleeping cool, the add-on battery is the right answer — it's engineered for this unit and delivers a full 8 hours. Power station bundles make sense when you also want to charge phones, run lights, and power other gear, and you accept shorter AC time. Runtime figures above are our own estimates from the WAVE 3's rated draw and each station's capacity, and real-world results vary with ambient temperature, insulation, and how hard the compressor works. Call us at (303) 876-7654 and describe your space — we'd rather get this right than sell you the wrong bundle.

What's Included

EcoFlow WAVE 3

In the Box

  • EcoFlow WAVE 3 portable air conditioner
  • Insulated exhaust duct
  • Exhaust duct adapter covers
  • Drain pipe
  • Winder
  • Duct size template

Your selected add-on battery, solar panel, alternator charger, or power station ships alongside with its own cables and documentation. Note that like any compressor air conditioner, the WAVE 3 must vent its exhaust duct outside the space you're cooling — the included template helps you cut a tent or window fitting to size.

EcoFlow WAVE 3: Frequently Asked Questions

How long will it run on a power station?
The WAVE 3 draws about 640W cooling on DC, so divide your power station's capacity by roughly that. A 1024Wh unit like a DELTA 3 Plus or DELTA 2 gives around an hour and a half, a 2048Wh DELTA 2 Max about three hours, and a 3600Wh DELTA Pro around five. If you want a full night of cooling, the purpose-built add-on battery is the right choice at up to 8 hours.
Should I get the add-on battery or a power station?
If cooling overnight is the goal, get the add-on battery — it's engineered for this unit, delivers 8 hours, and recharges in as little as 75 minutes on combined AC and solar. Choose a power station bundle instead when you also want to run lights, charge phones, and power other gear, and you're happy with shorter air conditioning time. Call us at (303) 876-7654 and we'll help you weigh it up.
Does it need to vent outside?
Yes. Like any compressor air conditioner, it moves heat out of the space rather than destroying it, so the insulated exhaust duct has to vent outside the area you're cooling — through a tent port, a window fitting, or a van vent. A duct size template is included to help you cut a fitting. Running it with the exhaust inside the same space will make the room warmer, not cooler.
Can it heat as well as cool?
Yes, at 6800 BTU — slightly more heating than cooling capacity — and it switches over automatically as the temperature drops, which is genuinely useful on mountain camping trips where afternoons are hot and nights are cold.
How big a space will it cool?
6100 BTU with 330 m³/h of airflow suits a tent, a van, a camper, a small bedroom, or a home office. EcoFlow quote a 15°F drop in 15 minutes, though that depends heavily on insulation, sun exposure, and how well the exhaust is vented. It isn't sized for cooling a whole house.
Is it quiet enough to sleep with?
In Sleep Mode it runs at 44dB, roughly the level of a quiet conversation, and EcoFlow designed that mode specifically for overnight use. At full output it reaches 58dB, which is noticeably louder — so expect it to be audible while it's pulling a hot space down, then settle once it's holding temperature.
Do I have to drain water out of it?
Yes, as with any air conditioner it condenses moisture out of the air. A drain pipe is included, and the app sends an alert as the tank approaches full so performance doesn't quietly degrade. In humid conditions you'll be draining it more often.
What is pet care mode?
It lets you set a temperature range through the app — EcoFlow give 77°F to 113°F as the settable band — so the unit maintains safe conditions for a pet left indoors and acts before the space gets dangerously hot. Useful in a van or an apartment on a hot day.
Can I leave it out in the rain?
It's rated IPX4, so it tolerates splashing and light rain, but it isn't sealed against heavy or sustained water. Keep it under an awning or inside the space it's cooling with only the duct outside.
Do you offer financing or price matching?
Yes. We offer 0% APR financing options through Affirm at checkout, and every purchase is backed by our Lowest Price Guarantee — if you find a better price elsewhere, call us at (303) 876-7654 before you order.
