EcoFlow LFP Battery for 48V Systems — 2kWh and 5kWh

This is the battery that EcoFlow's Power Kit systems are built around, sold on its own so you can expand a system you already have or build one to your own design. Lithium iron phosphate cells in a 48V package, with the battery management system, auto-heating and hot-swap capability built in.

Two sizes: 2kWh (40Ah) and 5kWh (100Ah). Up to three stack in parallel through the Terminal Busbar, so a 2kWh bank can grow to 6kWh and a 5kWh bank to 15kWh. They can be hardwired into a fixed installation or plugged in, and the mounting clamp, bracket and strap come in the box. EcoFlow LFP Battery for 48V Systems — 2kWh and 5kWh: Frequently Asked Questions

Will this work as a standalone battery, or do I need a Power Hub?
It's designed as part of EcoFlow's 48V Power Kits system, communicating with the Power Hub over CAN bus for charge control and monitoring. It isn't a general-purpose 48V battery you drop into any inverter setup — the BMS expects to talk to compatible hardware. If you're building around third-party equipment, call us at (303) 876-7654 first and we'll tell you honestly whether this is the right battery for you.
What does auto-heating actually do?
Lithium cells are damaged by charging below freezing, so most batteries simply block charging when they're cold. This one uses some of its own energy to warm the cells first, which means it will accept a charge at ambient temperatures down to −4°F. If your batteries live in an unheated garage, a winter cabin, or a van you use in the shoulder seasons, that's the difference between a system that works in February and one that doesn't.
How many can I connect together?
Up to three in parallel per Power Hub, joined with the Terminal Busbar. That gives you 6kWh with the 2kWh battery or 15kWh with the 5kWh battery. All batteries in a bank need to be the same size.
Can I add a battery to a system that's already running?
Yes — these are hot-swap enabled, so you don't need to take the system offline to add or replace one. That's genuinely useful if the system is doing something important, like keeping a fridge or a medical device running.
How long will it last?
EcoFlow rates it for up to 3500 cycles at 80% depth of discharge, which is roughly ten years of cycling it daily. LFP chemistry is chosen for exactly this: it trades a little energy density for a long, stable service life and much better thermal behaviour than other lithium chemistries.
Can I mount it on its side or on a wall?
The box includes a wall mounting clamp, a bracket, and a strap, so wall and floor mounting are both supported. Follow the orientation guidance in the manual — and in a vehicle, mount it properly rather than letting it sit loose, because a battery this heavy becomes dangerous in a sudden stop.
What's included, and what will I still need?
You get the battery plus the wall clamp, mounting bracket and strap. You'll separately need the Terminal Busbar if you're paralleling batteries, and the appropriate battery cables for your install. We can put that list together for you over the phone.
Is it safe to install inside a living space?
LFP is the safest of the common lithium chemistries, and the BMS protects against overcharge, over-discharge, short circuit and thermal problems. It's routinely installed inside RVs and homes. Follow the manual's clearance and ventilation guidance, keep it dry, and have the AC side of any installation handled by a qualified installer.
What warranty comes with it?
Five years from EcoFlow. Cables and accessories carry a 12-month warranty. We're an authorized dealer, so claims go through EcoFlow's normal process with our support behind them.
