EcoFlow 4kWh Power Kit — 48V Off-Grid Power System

The 4kWh Power Kit pairs the Power Hub with two 2kWh batteries — the same footprint per battery as the 2kWh kit, but double the runtime, and split into two units that are easier to fit into awkward spaces than one large one.

Everything runs off one Power Hub, which packs an inverter-charger, two MPPT solar controllers, an MPPT battery charger and a DC-DC converter into a single wall-mounted box. What exactly is a Power Kit, and how is it different from a portable power station?
A portable power station is a sealed box you plug things into. A Power Kit is a permanent electrical system for a vehicle or building: the Power Hub bolts to a wall, the batteries mount alongside it, and it wires into your existing AC and DC circuits. You get far more capacity, real 3600W output, alternator charging while you drive, and proper circuit distribution — at the cost of needing to be installed rather than just unboxed.
Do I need an electrician to install this?
The system is designed to be plug-and-play between its own components, which removes most of the wiring guesswork. But it still ties into your vehicle's or building's AC and DC circuits, and in many places that work needs to be done or signed off by a qualified installer. We'd strongly recommend having an RV technician or licensed electrician handle the tie-in even if you assemble the kit yourself.
What is the difference between the three kits?
All three include the Power Hub, the batteries, the cables and the mounting hardware. The middle kit adds the AC/DC Smart Distribution Panel, which gives you proper breaker-protected circuits and per-circuit monitoring instead of wiring your loads directly. The top kit adds the Power Kit Console, a wall-mounted display so you can see and control the system without reaching for your phone.
How much can I actually run on it?
Output is the same across every kit — 3600W continuous, 7200W surge. What changes with capacity is how long you can run it. 4kWh of storage means 4,096 watt-hours; divide by the draw of what you're running for a rough hourly figure. A 1500W air conditioner will pull it down quickly, an LED-lit van with a fridge and laptops will run for a long time. Call us at (303) 876-7654 with your load list and we'll work it out with you.
Can I add more batteries later?
Yes. Up to three batteries can be paralleled per Power Hub through the Terminal Busbar, and they hot-swap, so adding one doesn't mean shutting the system down and rewiring. If your plans go beyond 15kWh, call us and we'll look at multiple Hubs or at EcoFlow's larger systems.
How much solar should I pair with it?
The Hub accepts up to 4800W, which is more than almost any RV roof can physically hold, so in practice your roof area is the limit rather than the electronics. As a rule of thumb, aim for enough panel to replace a day's usage in a day's sun. We stock EcoFlow's rigid and bifacial modular panels and can size an array against your roof dimensions.
Does it really charge from my vehicle's alternator?
Yes — up to 1000W while the engine runs, which is one of the biggest practical advantages of this system for van and RV use. On a long drive that's a meaningful amount of energy recovered without any sun at all. Your alternator needs to be able to supply it, so tell us your vehicle and we'll sanity-check that.
Will it work in cold weather?
Yes. The LFP batteries have built-in auto-heating, so they can accept a charge down to −4°F, which is the temperature at which most lithium batteries simply refuse to charge. The Power Hub itself is rated from −13°F to 140°F.
How long will the batteries last?
EcoFlow rates them for up to 3500 cycles at 80% depth of discharge, which works out to roughly ten years of daily use. LFP chemistry is chosen specifically for that longevity and for its thermal stability.
