Epoch 12V 300Ah Essential Series LiFePO4 Battery (3.84kWh, Group 31)
300Ah in a Group 31 footprint, which is the size most RV and van battery compartments are already built around. 3,840Wh of LiFePO4 with 200A of continuous discharge, internal heating so it charges down to −4°F, and Bluetooth monitoring through the Epoch app.
The Essential Series is Epoch's value line, and the trade against the Pro and Elite ranges is honest: fewer cycles (4,000 rather than 6,000), IP54 rather than IP67, and no CANbus. What you keep is the capacity, the heating, the 11-year warranty and the BMS. For an RV or van house bank that lives in a dry compartment, that's the right set of compromises. Renewable Outdoors is an authorized Epoch dealer — call us at (303) 876-7654 and we'll size the bank with you.

Why the Essential Series 300Ah
300Ah in a Group 31 Case
3,840Wh in the footprint your compartment was probably designed for — three times a typical Group 31 lead-acid.
Internal Heating
Charges down to −4°F with low-temperature charge protection, which is what makes winter use practical.
4,000+ Cycles
Roughly ten years of daily cycling, behind Epoch's 11-year limited warranty.
200A Continuous Discharge
2,560W at 12.8V, with 400A available for three seconds — enough for a substantial inverter.
Bluetooth Monitoring
State of charge, voltage, current and alarms in the Epoch app on iOS and Android.
4S4P Configurable
Up to four in series for 48V, or four in parallel for 1,200Ah at 12V.

Epoch 12V 300Ah Essential Series LiFePO4 Battery (3.84kWh, Group 31): Frequently Asked Questions
How does the Essential Series differ from Pro and Elite?
Essential is the value line. You get 4,000 cycles rather than 6,000, IP54 sealing rather than IP67, and Bluetooth without CANbus or Victron integration. Capacity, internal heating, the BMS and the 11-year warranty are all still there. For an RV or van house bank in a dry compartment it's the sensible buy; if the battery needs to survive water or talk to a Victron system, step up to Pro or Elite.
What will 300Ah run in an RV?
3,840Wh covers a 12V compressor fridge, LED lighting, water pump, fans, and charging for a day and a half to two days without any input. Add a 2,000W inverter for a coffee maker and a microwave in bursts and you're still comfortable for a day. Call us at (303) 876-7654 with your appliance list and we'll work it through.
Why is the recommended charge current only 50A when it accepts 200A?
200A is what the BMS permits; 50A is what Epoch recommends for longest cell life. Charging gently is easier on any lithium battery. In practice most RV charging sources — solar, a converter, a DC-DC charger from the alternator — deliver well under 50A anyway, so the recommendation rarely constrains anything.
Can I put four in series for a 48V system?
Yes, up to 4S, and up to 4P, so a maximum 4S4P configuration. That said, for a dedicated 48V system a native 48V battery avoids series balancing entirely and is usually the better engineering choice. Happy to compare the two for your build.
What does the IP54 rating mean for where I can install it?
IP54 is dust-protected and splash-resistant — fine for an RV compartment, a garage, a van conversion or a sheltered locker. It is not rated for submersion or for standing water. If the battery will live somewhere that can genuinely get wet, like a boat bilge or an open deck locker, Epoch's Elite and Pro Series batteries are IP67 and that is the specification to buy.
Does it fit a standard Group 31 tray?
The base footprint is Group 31 at 13.75 by 7.63 inches, but note it's 15.5 inches across the handles and 10.5 inches tall with the terminal bolts. Measure your compartment against those larger figures rather than the base ones — that's the dimension that catches people out. We stock Epoch's own tray for this model.
Why lithium iron phosphate rather than lead-acid?
Three reasons that matter in practice. You can use nearly all of the rated capacity rather than half, so a 100Ah LFP battery does the work of a 200Ah lead-acid one. It weighs roughly a third as much for the same usable energy. And it lasts thousands of cycles instead of a few hundred, so cost per cycle is dramatically lower despite the higher purchase price.
Do I need a lithium-specific charger?
Yes. A lead-acid charger's absorption and float voltages are wrong for LFP — it will either leave the battery short of full or hold it at a voltage that shortens its life. Any charger with a LiFePO4 profile works, and we stock Epoch's own matched chargers in 12V, 24V, 36V and 48V.
How long will it really last?
4,000+ cycles to Epoch's rating, and an 11-year limited warranty. For typical RV use — perhaps 60 to 100 cycles a year — the cells will outlast the vehicle. For daily off-grid cycling it's around a decade.
Do you offer financing or price matching?
Yes. We offer 0% APR financing options through Affirm at checkout, and our Lowest Price Guarantee applies — if you find this battery cheaper at another authorized dealer, call us at (303) 876-7654 before you order and we'll take care of it.
