Epoch 36V 50Ah Essential Series LiFePO4 Battery (1.92kWh)

One 36V battery in a Group 31 case, in place of three 12V batteries wired in series. That's the whole proposition: 35 pounds instead of well over a hundred, one BMS instead of three that can't see each other, and one set of terminals instead of a series harness that has to be right.

50Ah at 38.4V for 1.92kWh, 100A of continuous discharge, internal heating so it charges down to −4°F, IP65 sealing and Bluetooth monitoring. 4,000+ cycles behind Epoch's 11-year warranty, with up to four in parallel for 200Ah. Renewable Outdoors is an authorized Epoch dealer — call us at (303) 876-7654 and we'll check it against your trolling motor.

Why the 36V 50Ah Essential

35 lbs Instead of Three Batteries

A single Group 31 case replacing three 12V lead-acid batteries and well over a hundred pounds in the bow.

100A Continuous

Drives a 36V trolling motor at full throttle, with 130A available for ten seconds.

Internal Heating

Charges down to −4°F with low-temperature charge protection — early and late season are no problem.

IP65 Sealed

Dust-tight and water-resistant, which is the right specification for a bow compartment.

Bluetooth Monitoring

State of charge, voltage and alarms in the Epoch app on iOS and Android.

4,000+ Cycles

For a fishing season of fifty or sixty outings, effectively unlimited — behind an 11-year warranty.

Epoch 36V 50Ah Essential Series LiFePO4 Battery (1.92kWh): Frequently Asked Questions

How long will it run my 36V trolling motor?
It depends on throttle, which is the honest answer. 1.92kWh against a motor drawing 25A at 36V gives you about two hours at that draw — but real fishing is mostly spot-lock and low speed, so a typical day is well within reach. If you fish hard all day at high speed, look at the 36V 100Ah instead, or run two of these in parallel.
Why one 36V battery instead of three 12V batteries?
Weight, simplicity and reliability. Three 12V lead-acid batteries for a 36V motor weigh well over 100 lbs against this battery's 35. Three separate BMSs can't see each other, so one weak battery drags the string down invisibly. And a series harness is three more connections that can corrode or come loose in a wet bow compartment.
Can I wire two in series for 72V?
No — this battery does not support series connection. Expansion is by parallel only, up to four batteries for 200Ah at 36V. If you need 72V, that's a different product; call us at (303) 876-7654 and we'll point you at the right one.
Will it fit my existing battery compartment?
It's a Group 31 footprint at 13.0 by 6.8 by 9.44 inches, which is the size most bow compartments are built around — and remember you're replacing three batteries with one, so space is rarely the constraint. Measure the height with cables attached before ordering.
What does IP65 protect against?
Dust-tight and resistant to water jets — so rain, spray and wash-down are fine. It's not rated for submersion, unlike Epoch's IP67 Elite and Pro batteries. For a covered bow compartment IP65 is appropriate; if the compartment regularly holds standing water, consider a Pro Series battery instead.
Does the heater matter for fishing?
It matters at the ends of the season. Without heating, a lithium battery below freezing simply refuses to charge — so a battery left on the boat overnight in March can't be topped up in the morning. With heating, it warms itself and charges normally down to −4°F.
Why lithium iron phosphate rather than lead-acid?
You can use nearly all of the rated capacity rather than half, so a 100Ah LFP battery does the work of a 200Ah lead-acid one. It weighs roughly a third as much for the same usable energy. And it lasts thousands of cycles instead of a few hundred, so the cost per useful cycle is dramatically lower despite the higher purchase price.
Do I need a lithium-specific charger?
Yes. A lead-acid charger's absorption and float voltages are wrong for LFP — it will either leave the battery short of full or hold it at a voltage that shortens its life. Any charger with a LiFePO4 profile works, and we stock Epoch's own matched chargers in 12V, 24V, 36V and 48V.
How should I store it over winter?
Between 32°F and 95°F for up to twelve months, ideally around half charged. Self-discharge is slow, so a top-up before the season starts is normally all it needs. Don't leave it fully charged or fully empty for months at a time.
Do you offer financing or price matching?
Yes. We offer 0% APR financing options through Affirm at checkout, and our Lowest Price Guarantee applies — if you find this battery cheaper at another authorized dealer, call us at (303) 876-7654 before you order and we'll take care of it.
