Why does it run at 40A when plugged in? Per electrical code, a NEMA 14-50 plug-in charger is limited to 40A. To use the full 48A, convert it to a hardwired connection on a 60A circuit.
How do I get 48A? Switch the internal current setting and hardwire it on a 60A circuit using a licensed electrician.
How fast does it charge? About 38 miles of range per hour at 40A plug-in, and up to about 50 miles per hour at 48A once hardwired.
Will it work with my car? It uses the J1772 connector, so it works with all non-Tesla EVs and plug-in hybrids. Tesla owners can use a J1772-to-NACS adapter (not included).
Is it weatherproof? Yes. The IP66 / NEMA 4 enclosure handles rain, snow, heat, and dust, with 10+ built-in protection systems.
