SunGoldPower 3000W Pure Sine Wave Inverter with Charger (12V or 24V)

3000W continuous with 9000W available for twenty seconds — a 300% surge capacity that starts well pumps, compressors and air conditioners a high-frequency inverter of the same rating would stall on. Available in 12V and 24V versions.

120V pure sine wave output, a built-in multi-stage charger with nine battery profiles, a 10ms transfer switch and auto generator start. Low-frequency transformer construction throughout. Renewable Outdoors is an authorized SunGoldPower dealer — call us at (303) 876-7654 and we'll help you choose between 12V and 24V.

Why the LFP 3000W

9000W Surge for 20 Seconds

300% of continuous rating, held long enough to start a well pump or a compressor.

Low-Frequency Transformer

Built to tolerate difficult inductive loads rather than to be light.

12V or 24V

Choose the DC voltage that matches your bank — 24V halves your cable current for the same power.

Nine Battery Profiles

AGM, gel, flooded, lithium and LiFePO4 profiles selected on the unit.

10ms Transfer Switch

Quick enough for most electronics when switching between shore power and battery.

Auto Generator Start

A dry-contact relay starts and stops a generator based on battery voltage.

What's Included

SunGoldPower 3000W inverter detail

What You Get

  • 1 × SunGoldPower 3000W inverter-charger in the DC voltage you select
  • Wired remote control with LCD display
  • Battery temperature sensor (BTS) cable
  • User manual and warranty documentation

This is a low-frequency transformer-based inverter, which is why it is heavy and why it handles motor startup so well. It has no solar input — it inverts from a battery and charges from AC. If you want solar built in, look at SunGoldPower's SPH and SGN series instead. Call us at (303) 876-7654 and we'll make sure you're buying the right type.

12V or 24V?

Same 3000W output either way. The DC voltage decides your cable sizing and which batteries you can use.

Version Model Choose It When
12V LFP3K12V120VSG Your battery bank is already 12V — typical for RVs, vans and boats. Draws around 250A at full output, so cable runs must be short and heavy
24V LFP3K24V120VSG You are building the bank now, or the inverter sits some distance from the batteries. Half the current for the same power means far less copper and less voltage drop

If you have a free choice, 24V is the better engineering decision at 3000W — 125A instead of 250A makes a real difference to cable cost and cable heat. If your existing bank is 12V, buy the 12V version rather than adding a converter.

SunGoldPower 3000W Pure Sine Wave Inverter with Charger (12V or 24V): Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a solar inverter?
No, and this is the most important thing to get right before ordering. This is a low-frequency inverter-charger: it converts battery power to AC, and it charges the battery from an AC source such as shore power or a generator. It has no solar input and no MPPT charge controller. If you want to charge from solar panels, you need either a separate charge controller alongside this, or one of SunGoldPower's SPH or SGN series solar inverters instead.
Why is a low-frequency inverter better for motors?
Because the transformer inside it can deliver a very large surge for a short period — three times its continuous rating for twenty seconds here. Motors, compressors, pumps and power tools all draw far more current starting than running, and a high-frequency inverter of the same continuous rating will often trip trying to start them. The trade-off is weight and idle consumption: a transformer is heavy, and it draws power just sitting there.
Should I buy the 12V or the 24V?
If you already have a 12V bank, buy 12V. If you're building the system now, 24V is the better choice at this power level: 3000W at 12V draws roughly 250A, which needs very heavy cable over even a short run, while 24V halves that to about 125A. Less copper, less voltage drop, less heat.
What will 3000W run?
A well pump, a full-size refrigerator, a microwave, a 12,000 to 15,000 BTU air conditioner, most power tools, or several of those in combination up to the limit. The 9000W surge is what lets it start the pump and the air conditioner rather than tripping on their inrush current.
Can I add solar?
Not through this inverter — it has no MPPT input. You would add a separate charge controller between your panels and your battery bank, which works perfectly well and lets you size the controller to your array. If you'd rather have it all in one box, SunGoldPower's SPH and SGN series include MPPT controllers.
What is the idle draw?
55W on the 12V version and 39W on the 24V, dropping to 20W and 16W respectively in power saver mode. That's the transformer being energised. Over a day the 12V version's idle draw alone is around 1.3kWh, so switch it off when you don't need it if your bank is small.
Does it do 240V?
No — this model is 120V single phase only. If you need 240V for a well pump or a dryer, look at SunGoldPower's split-phase models, which produce 120/240V from a single unit.
Do I need a licensed electrician?
For anything that connects to your home's electrical service, yes — that is permitted, inspected work in every US jurisdiction. A standalone off-grid setup in a cabin or a workshop with no utility connection is treated differently depending on where you are, but the wiring still has to be done to code. Call us at (303) 876-7654 and we'll talk through what your installation will need.
Do you offer financing or price matching?
Yes. We offer 0% APR financing options through Affirm at checkout, and our Lowest Price Guarantee applies — if you find this cheaper at another authorized dealer, call us at (303) 876-7654 before you order and we'll take care of it.
