32 panels is 17.92kW of array, which in good conditions is roughly 70kWh on a strong day and a great deal less in winter or under cloud. That suits a whole-home grid-tied system, a large off-grid build or a small commercial roof. If it is more than you need, we sell the same panel individually and in smaller quantities, and pallet pricing only makes sense once you are buying most of a pallet anyway. How does this ship, and what do I need to unload it?
By freight. The pallet weighs around 2440 lbs as packed and measures 92.9" × 48.0" × 61.8", which means a truck with room to turn and something on your end to get it off the tailgate: a forklift, a tractor with forks, or a liftgate delivery arranged in advance. Inspect the glass before you sign for it and note any damage on the delivery paperwork, because a signed clean receipt makes a freight claim much harder. How do I work out how many panels go in a string?
Divide your inverter's maximum PV input voltage by the panel's open circuit voltage, then subtract one for cold-weather margin — Voc rises as temperature falls, and a string sized at the limit on a mild day can exceed the inverter's ceiling on a freezing morning. These panels are 50.09V Voc with a −0.28%/°C temperature coefficient. We do this calculation for customers all the time, so call us rather than guessing.
Will the panels actually produce their rated wattage?
Rarely, and that's normal for every panel from every manufacturer. Rated power is measured at Standard Test Conditions — 1000W/m2 irradiance at a 25°C cell temperature — which is brighter and cooler than a real roof on a summer afternoon. Expect 75 to 85 percent of nameplate in good conditions once the panels warm up. Size your array on that basis rather than on nameplate and you won't be disappointed.
What does bifacial actually gain me?
The rear face generates power from light reflected off whatever is underneath the panel. SunGoldPower rates this module at 588W with 5% rear-side gain, 644W at 15% and 700W at 25%, but which of those you see depends entirely on your surface and mounting height — a white roof, a concrete pad, or snow can add real output; dark soil or grass adds very little, and a flush roof mount adds almost nothing because there's no gap for light to reach the back. SunGoldPower does not publish a bifaciality factor for this model, so plan on the 560W front-face rating and treat the rear as upside.
How is this pallet different from the 560W PERC pallet?
Same 560W nameplate and the same 1500V DC system voltage, but different cells, different paperwork and a different pallet count. This one is N-Type at 21.67% efficiency with a 30-year linear power warranty, 32 panels to a pallet; the PERC version is 21.7% efficient with a 25-year linear warranty, 31 panels to a pallet, and it is the model SunGoldPower publishes a UL 61730 and CEC listing for. The electrical figures differ too, so modules from the two pallets should not share a string.
What certifications does this panel carry?
SunGoldPower publishes TUV, IEC, CE and CB certification for the SG-560WBG, and the factory holds ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018. They do not publish a UL 61730 or CEC listing for this model, which inspectors and utilities usually ask for on a permitted grid-tied installation in the US. What does the warranty actually cover?
Two separate things. The product warranty — 12 years on materials and workmanship — covers manufacturing defects. The performance warranty — 30 years, linear — guarantees the panel still produces a stated percentage of its original output at given years. Performance warranties are the more meaningful of the two over a panel's life, since panels rarely fail outright but all of them degrade.
What mounting hardware do I need?
That depends on whether you're going on a roof, a ground mount or a pole. These panels are 89.72" × 44.65" × 1.38" (2279 × 1134 × 35mm) and 70.4 lbs (31.8 kg) each, and SunGoldPower rates the module to 2400Pa wind resistance, which is what your racking and anchoring have to work with. Bifacial panels also want clearance behind them to be worth the premium, so an elevated ground mount beats a flush roof mount here. Wind and snow loading matter a great deal — it's worth a conversation rather than a guess.
