EG4 12000 BTU Hybrid Solar Window Unit

This window unit runs directly on solar power through a built-in MPPT controller — no separate charge controller required — and automatically switches between Solar Only, Solar with Supplemental AC, or AC Only depending on what's available. Cooling modulates from 2,500 up to its full 12,000 BTU/h rating.

EG4 rates it at CEER 14.2 with ENERGY STAR and AHRI certification, using R32 refrigerant. It fits standard double-hung windows from 24.9" to 39" wide.

How many solar panels do I need?
EG4 recommends around a 1,400W array, with a hard maximum input of 1,700W and 380V open-circuit voltage. Going well beyond that recommended range isn't something EG4 documents support for — call us at (303) 876-7654 if you're planning a larger array.
What happens if there's no sun?
It automatically switches to AC-only operation, or runs on Solar with Supplemental AC to make up any shortfall — you're never left without cooling.
