I recently purchased an EG4 system from Renewable Outdoors, and the entire experience has been excellent. I’m very satisfied with both the product and the support I received.
The item I received had a plastic bag that looked like it had been opened at least once before. I'm left with the nagging suspicion that the item we received was a return. Only sell new stuff. Oh, and EG4 hasn't returned any of my calls, doesn't answer the phone either. On hold forever, then they say "call back", but it doesn't happen. Maybe there is a crush due to 12/31 deadline, I get it. But We've laid down thousands and right now we have bricks.
Still in the stages of wiring… PV array, Gen. and the load/breaker panel. However everything looks good and well designed and constructed. The unit was packaged well for shipping (protected with foam) Excited seeing this come together!
Not much to say except it's doing its job. I would note that the fans are surprisingly quiet which was one of the things that I was concerned about coming from a different inverter that sounded like an airplane taking off.
Idle draw is also lower than expected. Just about 45W.
Great shipping Arrived with only a corner damaged on the outer box. Shipping is not like it used to be, but Renewal did a great job. Only negative is that it would be nice if they shared their provider code for EG4 installation app without having to use a generic code.

Lithium iron phosphate batteries on lead acid mode. So far ive ran 8000 watts consistently throughout the day charging my ev and the 12000 xp works great.I can’t wait to hook up the whole house to this inverter to really test it out.
Shipping took close to a month. And after a week of the unit being on with only solar and battery hooked up the unit failed. I contacted eg4 directly they are replacing it hopefully the replacement last longer than a week!
It was a challenge to get all the right buttons pushed to get it functioning. We finally did get it working. It's been working great since. Thanks again
The item was extremely late. I cancelled my order. Seller refused to cancel order and I refused shipment. Finally had to file a dispute with the credit card provider to get my money back. Product never received and was returned to seller.
So far, so good, everything looks clean and straightforward and much more simple than our existing system. We are getting ready to remove/replace our old-tech Outback FW-1000 system with two 12000XP's, so while we are not up and running, I'm confident we made the right move.
