Epoch 12V 460Ah V2-T Elite Series LiFePO4 Battery (5.89kWh)

The V2-T is the V2 Elite with an Eaton Class T fuse built in. That sounds like a detail; it isn't. A 400A Class T fuse is what marine and ABYC-conscious installations require to interrupt a high-current DC fault safely, and having it inside the battery removes an external fuse block, its enclosure and its cabling from your installation entirely.

Everything else is Elite-grade: 460Ah and 5,888Wh, 230A continuous discharge, 1,300A for one second, IP67 sealing, internal self-heating, Victron CANbus with DVCC, Bluetooth monitoring and OTA firmware updates. Epoch also rates this version at 4,000+ cycles. Renewable Outdoors is an authorized Epoch dealer — call us at (303) 876-7654 and we'll talk through whether the T version is the right one for your build.

Why the V2-T Elite 460Ah

Integrated 400A Class T Fuse

A UL60691 certified Eaton Class T fuse inside the battery — the fuse type marine installations require, with no external fuse block needed.

460Ah — 5.89kWh

A single Group 8D case in place of a bank of four, with all the interconnects that saves.

4,000+ Cycles

Epoch rates the V2-T higher than the standard V2, behind the same 11-year limited warranty.

IP67 Sealed

Dust-tight and rated for immersion to one metre for thirty minutes — genuinely suited to a bilge.

Self-Heating

Heater engages at 5°C and releases at 10°C, so the battery charges through cold weather rather than locking out.

Victron CANbus and Bluetooth

DVCC and distributed charge control through a GX device, plus Bluetooth 4.0 app monitoring.

What You Get

  • 1 × Epoch 12V 460Ah V2-T Elite Series LiFePO4 battery with integrated 400A Class T fuse
  • External mountable power button
  • Remote digital battery gauge
  • Communication harness for Victron systems, with RJ45 cables and waterproof bung
  • Documentation and warranty paperwork

Battery cables, a lithium-profile charger and mounting hardware are separate. Terminals are M8 at 12 N·m (8.85 lb-ft). Because the Class T fuse is internal, check with your installer whether it satisfies your fusing requirement before buying an external one as well — call us at (303) 876-7654 and we'll go through it.

Epoch 12V 460Ah V2-T Elite Series LiFePO4 Battery (5.89kWh): Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Class T fuse and why does it matter?
A Class T fuse can safely interrupt very high fault currents in a DC system — the kind a large lithium bank can deliver into a short circuit. Marine standards and careful installers specify them for exactly that reason. Having a 400A Class T fuse built into the battery means the protection is right there at the source, and you don't need an external fuse block, holder and cabling to achieve it.
How is the V2-T different from the standard V2 Elite?
Three things: the integrated 400A Class T fuse, a higher 4,000+ cycle rating, and slightly different charge parameters — 14.52V maximum charge and 210A continuous charge rather than 14.6V and 230A. Capacity, discharge current, IP rating, heating and communications are the same. If you'd otherwise be fitting an external Class T fuse, the V2-T usually works out simpler and tidier.
Do I still need external fusing?
That's a question for your installer and your local standard, and it depends on your system's layout — the internal fuse protects the battery, but your installation may still need protection elsewhere. Call us at (303) 876-7654 and we'll talk through what your build needs rather than giving you a blanket answer.
What does the heater actually do?
It warms the cells when they're too cold to accept a charge safely. On this model the heater engages at 5°C and switches off at 10°C, so it only runs when needed. Charging lithium below freezing without heating causes permanent damage, which is why unheated batteries simply block it.
Can I connect several in parallel?
Up to sixteen, all managed as one bank and visible on a single app dashboard. That's 7,360Ah — far more than most systems need, which means you're designing to your requirement rather than to the battery's limit.
How does the Victron integration work?
The battery communicates over CANbus at 500kbit/s with a Victron GX device. Turn DVCC on, set the controlling BMS to Epoch, and the Victron system takes its charge voltage and current limits from the battery itself. State of charge on your display becomes the battery's own figure rather than a calculation.
Why lithium iron phosphate rather than another lithium chemistry?
LFP trades a little energy density for a great deal of safety and service life. It doesn't have the thermal runaway behaviour that nickel-based lithium chemistries can exhibit, it tolerates being kept at a high state of charge, and it lasts thousands of cycles rather than hundreds. For a battery that lives in a boat, an RV or a house, those are the properties that matter.
What charger settings should I use?
Epoch specifies absorption at 14.2V for fifteen minutes per battery, float at 13.5V, equalisation off and temperature compensation disabled. Getting these right matters more than most people expect — a lead-acid profile will either leave the battery short of full or hold it at a voltage that shortens its life.
Is it heavy enough to need special mounting?
At 97.55 lbs, yes — it needs to be properly secured, particularly in a vehicle or a boat where an unsecured battery becomes a projectile. We stock Epoch's own mounting hardware for the 460Ah case, and it's a fifteen-minute job to fit.
Do you offer financing or price matching?
Yes. We offer 0% APR financing options through Affirm at checkout, and our Lowest Price Guarantee applies — if you find this battery cheaper at another authorized dealer, call us at (303) 876-7654 before you order and we'll take care of it.
